Sidekick
Sensor-Oriented, Personal Driver Assistant App
Sidekick starts and stops recording video automatically when the app is running in the foreground. Only a small preview window at the bottom right is displayed in order to minimize distraction. Audio is not recorded for privacy reasons.
Recorded video can be saved to the Photos app by tapping "i" in the trip log. Video older than 3 days will be deleted from the trip log to save storage space.
Sidekick saves trip mileage for you. Sidekick also tags business trips automatically based on the day of the week and start time.
You can toggle the business tagging of a trip by just tapping on it. You can even export business trips via email.
Sidekick notifies you of road hazards ahead in real time, based on your location, direction of travel and events from multiple data sources.
Hands-free. Eyes-free. Touchscreen not required.
Sidekick has an one-touch peer-to-peer incident reporting functionality to notify nearby drivers about an incident. Just tap the 'Police', 'Accident' or 'Traffic Jam' icon on the left of the Home screen.
It's that simple.
Using smartphone sensors and car integration APIs, Sidekick will detect distress situations such as high force impact and airbag deployment.
It will notify your emergency contact immediately.
It will also alert nearby users to reduce your risk of being rear-ended.
Sidekick gives you a read-out of traffic nearby, weather and news headlines as soon as you start to drive.
Sidekick goes into battery saving mode when you're stationary, and re-activates on its own when you're in a moving vehicle. No touch is required.
Sidekick reminds you gently if your speed is too high around school zones.
Sidekick shows you the name of upcoming junctions. No matter how small the signs are or how dark it is outside.
